Elden Ring: How To Find Malenia, Mohg And Draglonlord Placidusax

Elden Ring: How To Find Malenia, Mohg And Draglonlord Placidusax

Elden Ring has hidden huge amounts of content that are quite easy to miss. While the game challenges players to explore extensively, missing a giant area or super boss can be difficult. We’ve got you covered! It is clear that there ton of spoilers here, so if you want to dig for yourself, leave immediately! I’m serious, get out of here! Again, spoiler warning return now!

How to find Malenia, Blade or Miquella

If you’ve made it to the end of the game and wondered where one of the top characters from the story trailer was, she’s well hidden in a sprawling old dungeon. She is the best fight in the game and an incredibly serious challenge. To find her, you first need the two halves of the secret Haligtree medallion. The first half is arguably the hardest to find, located in Liurnia of the Lakes in the southwest corner. In the village there you will find a checkpoint of mercy. From that place of grace, follow the hill until you come to the perfumer’s enemy. Take them out and then continue up the hill until you find a barrel/pot. Hit the jar once and someone will appear! If you exhaust his dialogue, you’ll have half the secret Haligtree Medal!

The second half of the medal cannot be obtained on the critical path until much later after you unlock the snowy mountains. To the north of this area is an unmissable mini dungeon, Castle Sol. You’ll need to take down a fairly high-ranking commander-boss in there, and after you’ve done this, go after him and get the other half of the medallion from the chest. With the two halves combined, take it to the elevator you originally used to access the snowy area and choose the “use secret medal” option instead. You’ve just unlocked an all-new outdoor space!

This space is huge and contains tons of awesome endgame materials, so be sure to explore the whole thing. Our focus here, however, is on reaching Ordina, the liturgical city to the north, where you’ll need to solve an Evergaol puzzle to open the path to the Haligtree. To complete it, enter the city’s Evergaol gate and be careful – extremely dangerous enemies lurk inside, use your best skills to dodge or defeat them as you light four lamps on top of towers. Once lit, return to the normal world and the gate to the Haligtree will be open.

Now the fun begins! The Haligtree is a huge late game old dungeon full of danger, but also with huge rewards and a wealth of endgame resources. Continue through the tree until you reach Malenia herself, the boss of this area. Should you be victorious, collect her rune and unlock several cool new toys, including a sweet katana that requires 48 dex to wield. You can pick up that, and her entire armor set, in the Two Fingers room in the Roundtable Hold. Malenia is my favorite boss in every From Software game, enjoy the battle.

How to find Mohg, Lord of Blood?

Ready to join a cult? Mohg and his disciples are well hidden and try to bring the world out of the shadows. Interestingly enough, the easiest way to find Mohg is to get to the secret area via the Haligtree medallion, as described above. In those vast snowy expanses, you’ll find a church nestled near the top of the zone. From there, find the giant boulder that rings a bell and go along the zone line, roughly where you can see on the map above (may be a little off as there is no real marker). There will be an acolyte of blood attacking you, send him and you will find a teleporter that will take you deep underground to Mohg’s headquarters himself.

While this isn’t big enough to be an ancient dungeon, there are tons of treasures to collect on the way to the Blood Lord. At the top of the zone you will find Mohg. Beat him for some exciting new options to add to your repertoire!

How do you find Draglonlord Placidusax

Nestled in the floating Crumbling Farum Azula lies the lord of all dragons. Arguably the coolest dragon in any From Software game, Dragonlord Placidusax is off the beaten track and incredibly easy to miss. From the checkpoint shown here (next to the big bridge), you’ll want to take the elevator back down and carefully jump off the nearby rocks. It will take quite a few jumps and you will find yourself standing on a fairly large platform that doesn’t seem to have anything special on it. You will see some skeletons in graves – position yourself above the noticeably empty grave that has no skeleton, then lie down in it. You will be teleported to the Dragonlord Placidusax battle. This fight is a visual spectacle, that’s for sure. If you manage to win the day, you can get a very cool sword. For those of you who have embraced the dragon powers of faith in Elden Ring, you will also gain access to a powerful spell that will allow you to melt your opponents with golden breath.

How to find Astel, Naturalborn of the Void

Space bugs? In my Elden ring? It’s more likely than you think. For this one, you’ll first need to defeat Rennala at the Academy or Raya Lucaria to unlock her tower, accessible in the backyard of the Carian Manor (you know, the haunted place with all the Wallmasters). Once unlocked, a portal at the top will send you deep underground, eventually leading to a lake absolutely full of scarlet rot. Brave the cruel poison to the end and take a chest at the end of a cliff to end up in Astel’s arena. This boss’s sweet loot includes a magical flail that manifests empty energy and weapon shaft that can be attached to big axes, colossal weapons and the like – freeing up an absurdly empty area of effect!
